Minutes to decimal hours (tenths)
Many logbooks and operators record time in tenths of an hour. Use this table to convert minutes:

Frequently asked questions
›How do I add flight times in hours and minutes?
Add the hours and the minutes separately, then carry every 60 minutes into one hour. For example 1:35 + 2:50 = 3 h 85 min = 4:25. The calculator above does the carrying for you and also shows the total in decimal hours.
›How do I convert minutes to decimal hours?
Divide the minutes by 60. 45 minutes is 0.75 h, so 2:45 becomes 2.75 h. Logbooks that use tenths round to the nearest 6 minutes: 2:45 is logged as 2.8. See the conversion table on this page.
›Can I subtract time, for example to correct a logbook total?
Yes. Tap the + next to a line to switch it to −, and that line is subtracted from the total. This is handy for removing a wrong entry or checking a carried-forward total.
