Humidity and dew point
7 min read
Words for water in the air
Relative humidity (RH): how much water vapour the air holds compared with the most it could hold at that temperature, in per cent.
Dew point: the temperature to which the air must be cooled, without changing its moisture, to become saturated.
Spread: temperature minus dew point. A small spread means the air is close to saturation: cloud or fog is likely.
